A group trying to break marijuana stigmas is tapping into summertime nostalgia with a massive, hemp and marijuana-themed, field day event in Mount Dora on May 22, 2021. The FREE event is produced by the Orlando chapter of NORML in order to dispell marijuana stereotypes and bring Florida’s cannabis community together for “the most fun you can have in day”.
“Tug-of-war, three-legged race, potato sacks… we’re bringing it all back, only this time it’s adult-sized and cannabis themed,” said Nurse Colleen Murray, Chairperson Orlando NORML. “It’s time to normalize this plant that brings health and happiness to so many. Isn’t that what a field day is all about? Health and happiness.”
Orlando NORML has partnered with Zick Productions, producers of the Florida Cannabis Festival which drew over 15,000 attendees at the same location in November of 2020. The Florida Field Day event will feature more than 100 vendors from hemp and CBD, to apparel and wellness products, as well as some of Central Florida’s best food trucks and a “Battle of the Bands”.
“We are breathing new life into the cannabis event by making it the most fun you can have in a day,” continued Nurse Colleen. “We’ll have both teams and individuals competing for trophies and prizes in some of the most hilarious games you can imagine. And don’t worry if you don’t want to get too physical. There’s rolling competitions, water pipe crafting and all sorts of low impact field day fun.”
Registration for Florida Field Day is FREE and available at FloridaFieldDay.com. The will be held on Saturday, May 22, 2021 from 10:00AM – 6:00PM at Renninger’s Twin Markets, 20651 US-441, Mt Dora, FL 32757.
